Teardrop, Unfinished Sympathy, Angel—these are just a few tracks that have marked the history of electronic and contemporary music. An iconic figure of the trip-hop movement, Massive Attack is back on stage, reimagined through a DJ set by Daddy G and DJ Kaos.
A key figure of the Bristol Sound and co-founder of the Wild Bunch Sound System, the collective that gave birth to Massive Attack, Daddy G was one of the first and youngest DJs in Bristol in the 80s. He quickly distinguished himself with an eclectic and laid-back style, blending hip-hop, reggae, disco, and dub.
DJ Kaos, a close collaborator of Massive Attack, has left his mark on the music industry for over three decades. A former member of Terranova, a duo he formed with Fetisch that played a crucial role in the rise of trip-hop in the 90s, he continues a prolific career as a producer and collaborator with major artists such as Wolfgang Tillmans, Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode), and Frank Ocean. Still highly active, he also runs the Berlin-based label Jolly Jams.
Their talent earned them the opportunity to independently curate mixes for the prestigious DJ-Kicks series, further enriching this iconic collection with two landmark releases! Two great preludes to hold us over until Nuits sonores 2025!
