Nuits sonores is back in its historic venues and in the city
Edition after edition, Nuits sonores seeks to shake up its formats and reinvent the experiences of its main venues. This anniversary edition will be no exception, as the Days are reinstated on their favourite playground: the banks of the River Saône. To celebrate this return, the festival is pushing back the walls of one of its historical sites to enlarge the outdoor space and take over the walls of the Azar for the very first time, where a fourth stage will be located.
At nightfall, the doors of three factories open to offer everyone the possibility to choose their own night experience. In the 7th arrondissement, the Usines Fagor will host Nuits sonores for the sixth and last time: to close this chapter in the festival's history, they will be the setting for four celebratory gatherings, with a single central stage, a redesigned scenography, and a reduced capacity. In the meantime, H7 welcomes in its large hall (ex-Halle Girard) a stage dedicated to local collectives, the beating hearts of the Lyon scene, while Le Sucre offers intimate club formats from midnight to early morning.
This anniversary edition will also be a time of reunion with some of the festival's emblematic venues: the Auditorium de Lyon, which will once again become the setting for the special concert, or the SUBS, a major venue of the first decade of Nuits sonores, which will become the setting for the four-night residency of the American duo Darkside. But also (above all?), the festival is back in one of the places inseparable from its history, and the one from which everything started: the city of Lyon and the public space in which the Public domain events will take place.
