DJ_Dave (live coding)

DJ_ Dave is an experimental electropop artist, DJ, researcher, and producer, specializing in live coding. In 2019, she discovered that electronic music can be created and manipulated in real time using code, bypassing DAWs and MIDI controllers to invent new live processes. Since then, she has performed at prestigious venues such as The Whitney Museum and Grimes’ Met Gala Afterparty, toured with JPEGMAFIA and Hannah Diamond, opened for Shygirl and SBTRKT, remixed artists including Channel Tres and Uffie, and is currently collaborating with Grimes, becoming the first female producer to do so.

In 2024, DJ_ Dave led her “Always Learning Tour”, bringing live coding to top computer science universities on the U.S. East Coast while publishing her first academic paper on the subject in pop music. A passionate advocate of Algo Rave, she continues to reinvent and explore the possibilities of electronic music in the age of code.
