Roy Dipankar is a pioneering filmmaker, producer and curator in subculture from India. For the past few years, Roy has been working on films related to sound system culture in the Indo-Jamaican spectrum. Currently he is a key researcher partaking in study and documentation of West Bengal's dek bass + sound system culture, and he is intended to accompany our guest performer for the West Bengal showcase, Sayak, to the festival from India. Roy has produced extensive scholarship and filmmaking with prominent production houses worldwide on the topic, and is working closely with Baalti for their documentary on the same.
