Passionate about science fiction and astronomy, Jeff Mills composes and performs live the soundtrack accompanying the screening of Woman in the Moon*. By blending the film with modern electronic sounds, he creates a perfect symbiosis between science fiction and techno. Directed by Fritz Lang in 1929, Woman in the Moon is a silent film considered one of the first to realistically depict space travel. Often mentioned alongside Metropolis as a major reference in science fiction cinema, Woman in the Moon is also seen as a link between two other genre classics: A Trip to the Moon (1902) and 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).
