The dance music industry currently relies on a touring model that is heavily dependent on flying. However, a wider reckoning of the environmental and societal impacts of the aviation industry, increases in ticket prices, climate catastrophes impacting transport infrastructure and a growing conversation of the mental health issues related to hyper-mobility, call this model into question. This workshop aims to facilitate conversations around ways in which all protagonists of our dance music cultures could work together towards more sustainable alternatives and dream up fairer futures.
