Powell & Michael Amstad (live A/V)

Powell is an artist and electronic musician living and working in London. His work operates at the intersection of music and art. He has released on XL Recordings, Mute, Editions Mego and Diagonal, and has collaborated with Wolfgang Tillmans, Lorenzo Senni, Russell Haswell, Michael Amstad and Marte Eknæs. In 2020 he opened a ƒolder (aƒ) — a cross-platform collection of disorienting works of experimental film, ambiguous texts and other assorted media set to brazenly strange and formlessly mesmerising musical structures. Part game, part never-ending performance, part elaborate ruse, it offers up non-sensical packets of sensation that are free to flow in the opposite direction of good taste. It also connects to something primordial and awesome: “We are all free to create our own worlds in life, art — whatever. The folder is a refuge.”

Michael Amstad [www.error.vision] is a filmmaker, video designer and animator based in Berlin. He operates in different constellations in art, music and film, creating short films, video installations and music videos from real life footage and different forms of animation. As part of the production company Hylas Film, he is creating the stop motion animation series Circus, currently in post-production.
