Hura Mirshekari

Hura Mirshekari is a singer and cultural artist from Sistan, currently based in Paris. She is the first woman to sing publicly in the Sistani dialect, breaking a long-standing taboo and giving voice to a marginalized and silenced language. Through her music, Hura works to preserve this oral heritage, carefully crafting her melodies according to the rhythm, pronunciation, and musicality of the Sistani language. Deeply inspired by the culture, geography, and lived realities of Sistan, her work carries a strong poetic and political dimension. By reclaiming a forbidden voice, Hura Mirshekari transforms singing into an act of resistance, memory, and transmission, offering a new musical identity to a region whose stories have too often been ignored.
