Aïssetou Diawara is a 24-year-old woman from Trappes who skillfully balances three commitments: nurse, entrepreneur, and trainer with Banlieues Climat. Convinced that climate justice cannot be addressed without including working-class neighborhoods, she takes action where social, environmental, and health inequalities intersect. As president of Planèt’Trappes, she mobilizes young people in her community through workshops, making ecology a concrete and local cause. Her commitment goes beyond borders: in The Gambia, her country of origin, she works to improve access to healthcare and promote international solidarity, staying true to a vision of health as a universal right.A longtime volunteer and secretary of Open’Trap since 2016, she has been recognized with the Young Merit Award from the Society of Members of the Legion of Honour—a recognition that says it all: a young woman who doesn’t wait but builds and brings others along with her.
