Tariq Krim is an iconic Web entrepreneur and Internet pioneer. He is one of the main defenders of the heritage and singular vision of French and European digital technology. He is also the initiator of the Slow Web movement, which advocates a calmer use of digital technology and artificial intelligence. He has founded several start-ups, including Netvibes and Jolicloud.

 

He has been an advisor to the French government (eG8, Mission de création de la French Tech and Vice President of the Conseil National du Numérique). He is also the founder of Cybernetica, a publishing house and think tank that studies the interdependencies between digital technology, artificial intelligence, geopolitics, culture and the world of defence.

 

In 2007, he was the first Frenchman to receive MIT's TR35 Digital Prize. He was also named Young Global Leader at the Davos Economic Forum. He is a graduate of Université Paris 7, ENST and the Harvard Kennedy School. In 2019 he has been promoted to Officer of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
