Outstanding DJ, producer, label boss, festival promoter, cultural icon — there’s a lot to say about Kevin Saunderson. His influence runs deep, both in his adopted hometown of Detroit and across music culture at large. As a member of the Belleville Three — the legendary group he formed in high school with Juan Atkins — he radically transformed the face of electronic music. With Inner City, he delivered some of its most iconic tracks. Between “Big Fun”, “Good Life”, the album Paradise, and a string of major singles, Inner City sold over six million records worldwide at their peak. His nickname “The Elevator” is well deserved: he helped lift Detroit’s groundbreaking sound to an international audience. Anyone who has seen him perform knows — his sets are powerful, generous, and exhilarating, just like him. For over 35 years, he has continued to evolve a culture he helped create.
