mess_montage

mess_montage is the project of Tornike Margvelashvili, a Tbilisi-born, Berlin-based sound artist, composer, and educator. His work explores the overlap of modular synthesis, Georgian polyphonic folk traditions and sonic ambient architectures.

A graduate of the Berlin University of the Arts’ Sound Studies and Sonic Arts MA program and an alumnus of the Red Bull Music Academy 2018 (Berlin), mess_montage moves across pedagogical, compositional, and performative contexts. His practice is rooted in listening as a form of cultural reflection and reimagining.

His discography includes releases on acclaimed independent labels such as Air Texture, Shimmering Moods Records, CES Records, among others. His latest album, Artefacts, was self-released on vinyl in 2024
