Marina Herlop has transcended her training as a classical pianist to create her own personal, delightfully polyphonic music, in which sophisticated rhythmic cells and haunting melodies meet. Her album Pripyat is a real creative, meticulous and penetrating jewel, bringing together her most diverse influences, such as the techniques inspired by the Carnatic music of South India used in the incantatory “miu”.
