Through his Retro Cassetta project, Badreddine Haoutar has gathered over the years Moroccan, Algerian, and Libyan cassette tapes from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, containing gems of Maghrebi music ranging from chaâbi and raï to rap, rock, and gnawa. A collector turned dj, he digs up these sound archives, digitizes them, and mixes them to give new life to this Maghrebi musical heritage.
